Proposed talks[edit | edit source]

While the program currently has more proposals than 30-minute timeslots not all the proposals have been confirmed. Anyone with a talk to propose should do so here. There will be some time for everyone who wants to present, with 5-minute lightning talks, shared panel sessions, and 30-minute slots.

Proposed additions[edit | edit source]

Deadline for submissions: April 10th, 2017 (notification of acceptance May 1st, 2017). Please list them below with the name of the proposed speaker.

  1. Medical school outreach in New York. Can combine with any institutional partnership using Wikipedia editathons or community recruitment. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:24, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
  2. Visiting scholar program, a pilot at Wikipedia:Cochrane/Global Ageing with support from Wiki Education Foundation. Can combine with Cochrane updates. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:24, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
  1. Blue can you provide the proposed presenter? I am sure Sydney would be happy to have them join her. By the way JenOttawa is already going to be speaking about the new editor experience. Doc James (talk) 21:43, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Registration[edit | edit source]

Registration for the medical day of events is included within that of the two days of pre-conference ($50 CAD)

  3. Peter Frishauf [1]
  4. CFCF (talk) 13:06, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
I was pretty bold in taking two spots now, however I feel I have quite a lot to contribute. Feel free to move these around. They don't really tie together that well, so I want them separated. However it isn't certain I really need 30 minutes for each either. I'll update this page when I have a better idea of what amount of time I need.
Maybe each as a 15 min piece? It will partly depend on how many of our potential speakers will be able to attend. Doc James (talk) 13:51, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Would work well, but if possible I'd like them separate. CFCF (talk) 14:03, 23 January 2017 (UTC

Main conference[edit | edit source]

The medicine day has a different organizing committee from the main conference. The main conference will also include presentations about medicine with the following submissions:

These session may occur during both the Wiki Med Day and Wikimania. The latter would have a broader audience and would introduce the people to the idea of WikiJournals and how people from different branches could collaborate to form peer-reviewed journals in their own fields and how they could built upon the prototype that has already been built. On the other hand, the presentation at Wiki Project Med could be customized to the context of WikiJournal of Medicine and the role it could play. Diptanshu.D (talk) 09:07, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
