Talk:Programme/Wiki Project Med
Note from main conference organizer
Hey Wiki Project Med!
If you tell me how many people you expect, I can set the space aside for you and include your schedule in the programme. :-) – Coren(talk) 17:52, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- I am sure 50 would probably do it. Not sure how many we can expect. Doc James (talk) 23:54, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
Call for submissions
I just cleared the schedule. This is a wiki open event and in wiki spirit I would like to propose keeping a bit of time for open submissions before posting a completely filled schedule. Some people asked me if they could talk, but the schedule was full, so I cleared it because I expected that the intent really was to have the schedule be just a draft.
I shifted presentations to a corral where they can be discussed and at a later time, selected presentations can go on the final schedule. I hope that we have time for everything but I am sure that there is not time for a 30-minute slot for everything. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:53, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- User:Bluerasberry We can keep shuffling but I have given people assurances that they can speak. Who else do you have who would like to present? Doc James (talk) 23:53, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Doc James: I am done here. The deadline was 30 March and I had anticipated that being the end, so I was not expecting to do more. I have not made assurances to anyone and can defer scheduling to anyone who has a priority. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:11, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
- Okay User:Bluerasberry. The amount of time avaliable for submitting presentation has also been extended for Wikimania. Doc James (talk)
- Hi! I thought that the presentation on WikiJournal or rather WikiJournal of Medicine would be included in the subject sessions. I see that it has not been done so. Any scope of including it? Diptanshu Das (talk) 15:59, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- I need to figure out how to get this Wiki to notify me of changes. Yes Diptanshu will put this down for a lighting talk. Who will present? Doc James (talk) 22:16, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Video
Can you guys arrange videotaping of the conference for later viewing on YouTube, etc.? I would like to watch the presentations. 91.224.27.229 10:45, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- That is an excellent idea. We need a volunteer interested in taking this on. Doc James (talk) 23:54, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
Better late than never?
Hi. I realize i am very late to the game here but, as the Wikimedian in Residence at the National Library of Wales i have just been successful in securing £40,000 from the Welsh Government to run a 9 month Wici-Health project aimed at engaging the health sector in Wales with Wikimedia, and securing the creation of 3000 Welsh language Wiki articles on important health and well being issues.
I am hoping to come to Wikimania and would love to be involved in this program. Is it too late to try and get a slot for a lightning talk? Best Jason.nlw (talk) 20:46, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
- User:Jason.nlw Sure. You can have 5 minutes to present :-) Doc James (talk) 23:32, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
Proposed talks
While the program currently has more proposals than 30-minute timeslots not all the proposals have been confirmed. Anyone with a talk to propose should do so here. There will be some time for everyone who wants to present, with 5-minute lightning talks, shared panel sessions, and 30-minute slots.
Proposed additions
Deadline for submissions: April 10th, 2017 (notification of acceptance May 1st, 2017). Please list them below with the name of the proposed speaker.
- Medical school outreach in New York. Can combine with any institutional partnership using Wikipedia editathons or community recruitment. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:24, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- Visiting scholar program, a pilot at Wikipedia:Cochrane/Global Ageing with support from Wiki Education Foundation. Can combine with Cochrane updates. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:24, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- Blue can you provide the proposed presenter? I am sure Sydney would be happy to have them join her. By the way JenOttawa is already going to be speaking about the new editor experience. Doc James (talk) 21:43, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
