Hi! I am Sara, an academic librarian in the US. I saw your proposal for a lightning talk about getting more academic involved in editing. I have been preparing a roundtable proposal for the very same topic. The idea is to let people have an open discussion about the issues surrounding getting them involved and how academics and scientists can get credit to tenure, promotions, or build their CVs. Would you be up for supporting each other to make this discussion even better? I don't know how they will schedule sessions, but I can ask that the roundtable discussion be after your lightning talk. - That's a different proposal, one that focuses on libraries and GLAM organizations. I am not working with them on it, I am just supporting it as I would attend it. I am still writing my proposal. - Hi both, thanks for bringing this up. I am planning to submit something similar (see notes on my user page) and think there is a lot of things we could be exploring in this space — way more than a lightning talk or a panel discussion.
