Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal)

In July 2015, Women in Red was launched at Wikimania Mexico City. In May 2016, it became the most active WikiProject in English Wikipedia. In November 2016, Women in Red was shortlisted for the ITU/United Nations' Women's GEM-TECH award in the category "Apply Technology for Women’s Empowerment and Digital Inclusion". In this presentation, we will describe:

  1. use of technology in our work
  2. our safe space methods, which have made our talkpages a harassment-free zone
  3. how we plan for and coordinate our work
  4. on-wiki outreach
  5. social media, including Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook campaigns
  6. press, including podcasts, interviews, OpEd
  7. replicating our project's mission, vision, and values on 11 other language Wikipedias
  8. collaborations with international campaigns, including UN Women HerStory and BBC100Women
