- Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal)
Every year, thousands of people around the world come together to discover, document, and share our built cultural heritage through Wiki Loves Monuments, the world's largest photo competition. The competition has been held for the past seven years, thanks to the dedication of hundreds of volunteers and staff members of various affiliations, groups of Wikimedians and beyond.
In the first part of this session, we present what we have achieved together, provide a status update on the projects that we introduced in Wikimedia Conference Berlin, and walk you through things you should know and do prior to the launch of your Wiki Loves Monuments campaign in September. In the second part of this session, we will open the floor for questions. This is a workshop and the members of the international team will be available to work with you in smaller groups to make sure your campaign is set up for success in 2017.
- What will attendees take away from this session?
An overview of the past 7 years of Wiki Loves Monuments and what we have achieved and an overview of the ongoing new projects about Wiki Loves Monuments. They will also have their questions about their national campaigns answered.
