Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal

The GLAM sector has been tremendously successful in the movement, and has give many volunteers a home base. However, for people who work as professional librarians, being lumped in with museums and archives is alienating for a profession that is focused on general resource discovery as well as information & media literacy and less on than on unique and distinctive collections. In this talk I will argue that libraries have more in common with the education portion of the movement, and will give tips for engaging this important and ubiquitous allied profession. This talk is meant to be intentionally provocative! Please come and engage in a lively discussion!

What will attendees take away from this session?: Attendees will be more attuned to the specific needs of libraries, as distinct from GLAMs.
