Arrival at the airport
On August 8th from 09:00-0:00, there will be a "Wikimania Welcome Desk" at the international arrivals hall at the airport. They will be able to point you in the right direction for transportation as well as answer questions about Montréal. If you arrive in the domestic arrivals hall and would like to visit the Welcome Desk, simply walk to the other end of the terminal (arrivals level) 2 minutes away. The distance between the two arrival halls is a 1 minute walk (0.11 miles).
Airport transfer
Existem duas maneiras de chegar à baixa da cidade de Montreal a partir do aeroporto: através de um táxi, por um preço fixo de CAD 40 (approx. USD 31 / € 29 / £ 25) ou através do autocarro público número 747 (STM) para CAD 10 (approx. USD 8 / € 8 / £ 7). O autocarro 747 sai a cada 10 minutos, e tem uma paragem directamente frente ao local do evento.
Metro and public transit
Esta cidade de Montreal está bastante coberta por uma extensa rede de transportes públicos e estradas. O transporte público em Montreal é coberta por Société de transport de Montréal (STM), que opera em autocarros e em metros subterrâneos. Para aqueles que vivem em subúrbios, maiores organizações chamadas de Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) gerem e operam em metros sobre a superfície.
The tickets for the subway are sold through automated kiosks or in person. You can get a OPUS RFID card for simplified public transit, or a tourist pass for 3 or 4 days.
The subway is open from 5:30 AM daily and closes between 00:35 and 01:30.
Taxi and Uber
Serviços de táxis são confiáveis, bem-regulados e muito bem distribuídos sobre Montreal. Adicionalmente às habituais companhias de táxis acessíveis através de aplicativos, tal como Taxi Coop e Taxi Diamond, a área da cidade à volta do local do evento é operada pela amiga-do-ambiente e com serviços acessíveis [http:/teomtl.com/en TéoTaxi]. Serviços Uber são também activos e bem populares tanto por cavaleiros como por condutores em Montreal, mas desde Setembro de 2016 as respectivas legalidades estão a ser intensamente debatidas em tribunal e o uso dos serviços continuam controversos e algumas vezes problemáticos. Bixi Public bikes
Para estes que preferirem ter uma bicicleta, Montereal tem um sistema de arrendamento de bicicletas (BIXI) com preços extremamente razoáveis, que beneficiará esses que preferem evitar a corrida da hora de pico do trânsito público.
Parking
There is some paid parking available at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel.
The indoor parking facility at the hotel has space for over 500 cars - including six dedicated Smart car spaces and two EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations. Motorcycle parking is charged at the same rate as car parking, while bicycle parking is complimentary.
Day guest parking is available for the following fees:
- Between 6am and 6pm, guests enjoy our competitive rate of $17 CAD.
- After 9am, a fee of $4 CAD per 20 minute increment applies - up to $25 CAD.
- Smart Car parking is $7 CAD for a maximum of 24 hours.
Nightly fees include taxes:
- Self-parking 24 hours - CAD $25 (max height – 5 feet 8 inches)
- Valet Parking 24 hours - CAD $34 (max height – 6 feet)
Parking entrance maximum height: 6 feet (includes car rooftop accessories, ex: racks, carriers).
