Talk:Submissions/Wikipedia Ranking of World Universities: an example of influence measurement from statistical analysis of Wikipedia network

From Wikimania
  • Primary target group: Anyone wanting stats on the performance of institutions of tertiary education..
  • Critical issue: No
  • Cross-Wiki significance: Yes
  • Abstract:
  • Concept:
  • Other / concerns: From one angle, it looks as if this is supporting, through complex stats, the notion that Wikipedia is a university ranking site - or at least is used as such, and is therefore influential. It's not quite clear from the abstract whether or not the proposer supports this view or intends to neutralise it. Perhaps less reliance on the actual stats-gathring would make the abstract more clear concerning the purpose of the presentation.
