Français : Cette communication vise, en premier lieu, à exposer le contexte et l'ancrage historique de la relation entre les bibliothèques publiques et Wikipédia. Ensuite, les grandes lignes de la prise de position récente de l'IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) seront discutées en vue de faire ressortir la signification de cet engagement pour la transition numérique des bibliothèques publiques . Enfin, le parcours des bibliothèques de Montréal au sein du projet de l'encyclopédie collaborative et des GLAMs ainsi qu'un survol des défis viendront conclure cette réflexion.
